La Vi’ll’e de demain

The project

Fitting a town and a garden onto the same plot. That is what Simon Freitag presented at the national final of the Carré des Jardiniers in December 2023, on the theme “Biodiver’cité”: a timber ramp crosses the plot and passes over the planting, which carries on underneath; a wall of coloured crates closes off the back. Part of it has been rebuilt at the Forbach showroom, where you can see it.

The garden fits on a competition plot. A timber ramp enters at one corner, rises, then folds back; beneath it, the planting carries on. The wall of coloured crates forms a backdrop for the eye. The ground alternates between stepping stones, gravel and low planting.
